SET DESIGN
Gabriel Ruiz is a musician that plays Traditional Brazilian Music and Samba, who asked me to build him a set for a little concert he was putting on in Rio de Janeiro.
Since the type of concert was small and informal, I decided to make a simple set so it would be easy to transport and build. That combined with the style of music I chose to work with the aesthetic of the tiles commonly found in Brazilian pubs.
After simulating the lights on the computer and defining the final patterns, I painted them on big wood plaques and, with the help of my amazing friends, carried them over our heads to the venue that was down the street from our university. We adjusted the set to its place and the lights did the rest.
